Well, my Inbox is filled to the brim and the calls are incessant and all I read and hear are “Why is my Adsense CPC and RPM extremely low recently?”
Well it has been confirmed that many Adsense publishers mostly down here are undergoing some little tough time as regards to low CPC and PRM being recorded this month.
Many publishers down here are hit by this low CPC and RPM and they really want to know what could be the cause or what they can do to improve on that trend.
It is important to note here that this is not the first time or period that AdsenseCPC and RPM are hitting all time low, but happens once in a while and this might probably be one of those periods.

The causes for the recent low CPC and RPM are not far-fetched as you know by now that Google Adsense by Google goes with revenue sharing formula with their publishers that depend strongly on the amount the advertisers are willing to remit to Google.
And remember that anytime that Google smiles i.e. the Advertisers raise their bars, Google in turn smiles and also take the smiles to their publishers, but when the reverse is the case, publishers are also treated in reverse manner.
Now, one of the major reasons that have caused Adsense CPC and RPM to fall this low in recent time down here is not unconnected to the recent policies of the Federal Government concerning the devaluation of the Naira and that has since seen the value of the Naira falling like stone from the sky against major foreign currencies.
You may want to ask how the falling Naira value has affected Adsense CPC and RPM currently since Adsense earnings are recorded in foreign currencies.

But before you ask that, remember that we said above that the amount advertisers are willing to pay have great impact on Adsense publishers CPC and RPM, and here is how the direct impact of those Government policies have affected Adsense CPC and RPM down here.
You should know by now that the two biggest online shops in the country, talking about Jumia and Konga are some of the major advertises on Google Adwords if not the biggest to say, and now the Federal Government policies have strongly affected exchange rate which has seen the Naira in constant fall recently and also affecting other Google Advertisers.
With that, it becomes obvious that Jumia and Konga will curtail their spending on Google Adwords in order to meet up with the current exchange rate and remain in business with the dwindling value of the Naira.

So now, to increase CPC and RPM, your sure bet is to redirect your target audiences to mostly foreign countries like US, Canada, UAE etc. if only you have contents that can also satisfy the desire of the audiences over there, otherwise you wait patiently until things normalizes.
What is happening to your Adsense CPC and RPM currently is something temporal and not permanent and with time, it will improve to your expectation or what you consider as normal.
Patience is also the key here; take your mind off your Adsense CPC and RPM for now and concentrate more in satisfying your audience with your quality contents and with time everything will get back to normal.
