Previously known as Picasa, Google Photos is a brilliant free service that allows you to upload your photos, organise them into albums and share them with friends and family. Unlike other social
networking services such as Facebook, with Google+ you have full control over who sees what you post, making it a great way to distribute private photos to your family.
Uploading images is easy, and you can even do it automatically via the Google+ app on your mobile device. Once the pics are uploaded, you can create albums for them to help keep them organised, tag other people who appear in them and then share with confidence. There is even a comprehensive
photo editing suite included, so that you can tweak the colours and make subtle adjustments to get your photos looking as good as they possible can. Edited images and albums can then be re-downloaded to your machine so that you have enhanced versions to distribute by alternate means if you prefer.
In this tutorial we will guide you around the basic features of Google Photos and show you how to upload images to your Google+ account, create albums and then go about sharing them with a select audience.
