Warning!! This Circulated Bank Emails Requesting for BVN Validation is Suspicious

In the past, we have discussed here on how to easily detect phishing emailsand there we go again with banks phishing emails currently being circulated by purported banks.

You might have recently received an email from purported bank in the country that simply goes like this;

Dear Customer

This is to bring to your notice that your FirstOnline account has been listed for SUSPENSION.

This is because you have not validated/registered your Biometric Verification Number with your FirstOnline account.

Follow this reference to START VALIDATION / REGISTRATION

All information must be filled correctly

NOTE: All atm and internet banking channel will be disabled and your remote access will be blocked within 12 hours failure to comply

As you can clearly see from above, that email is purportedly coming from First Bank, and similar emails too purportedly coming from other Nigerian banks like Zenith Bank and the rest are currently being circulated to different individual mail box.

When you read the email above and apply the method we offered on how to detect phishing emails, you will immediately know that the mail in question is a phishing email.

Looking at the email at glance can easily send panic to the recipient and force him/her to take the requested action, which will definitely end up leading to compromised personal details because that was the intent of the mail from an unknown phisher.

If you have received this mail in your mail box or know anybody that have received it from any purported Nigerian bank, please kindly ignore the message or tell the person to ignore it or better still delete the mail immediately as you see them.
